Why is this place so quiet?
It is only when school starts then will I understand the meaning of this Latin phrase
"Dum vita est spes est"
"While Life is, Hope is"

Alright guys, its official... I'm no longer in NUS! Goodbye CORS, and tutorial bidding which landed me with NO tutorial slot, and lonely lunches, and super crowded bus 95... I guess shuyi can perfectly understand how glad i am
fisher I think you need to chill out, let's meet up and help you to destress... if you really can't decide on things (like whether to go out or not...), just follow your intuition, if 'yes' appears in your head first, just do it! you'll get by uni lar, and the reason why you're having such a packed schedule is because you're an engin student, and engin students are usually better thinkers and doers, so you'll usually have a better chance in getting a job next time... which justifies the time spent on this degree, so you gotta work hard for that!

fishh: relax a bit lah....so long your modules can fulfill your university or major requirements can already liaoz. I already took a lot of rubbish modules all to fulfill the uni requirements de....now I am like so far behind compared to some of my friends lah in terms of math modules. CCA just see which one you really like lor, no need to rush (unless you are staying in hall). First year like that de, is like everything all gone wrong. Your next sem be little bit smarter lor, dun like me 2 sems got no free days and I suffered like mad lah travelling to and fro between home and school.
Besides, you still got like 9 more weeks to end of sem 1, if you stressed now how?

One day Sirocco went to place a wager on Zig stock market. When he first started playing, Zig's stock hovered at 100 points. Because Sirocco has a brilliant IQ of 190, he estimated without fail that Zig stock market has 0.49 chance of going up by 1 point, and 0.51 chance of going down by 1 point. He decides to stop when the market crashes at 50, or when the market hits 150. What are the chances that he will retire as a winner?
Sirocco: Cash is King!

This morning the cough subsides (with some irritating bouts) and I am feeling much better! Yay!
Gosh, for the past few weeks I was thinking about a statement which I heard from the news or TV. It was claimed that one cannot afford to be sick, especially here. I have my reasons to support it.
1) My school library books was due, on the day when I fell sick. I couldn't get up to take a 50 min ride to school just to return the stupid book. So I decided to incur a fine.
2) The orientation camp has one segment which I was in charge of, and so one week before the event, I slept most of the time instead of making preparations. Tried to get someone to help me but it is as good as crying for help while getting lost in the desert. So I decided to heck care and so of course things went wrong in every sense (but everyone enjoys it so who cares?)
BTW, minghan, you purposely one is it huh? Put such a large picture of facebook umbrella to tempt me is it? I had a bad dream few days ago, and I dreamt of me logging onto facebook again!
I shalt not be tempted.....
Yesterday coincidentally saw kenny in a canteen with a company of people. Lonely huh? hahahaha but he told me it was a totally different thing altogether, ya so I guess things are really different hor (skeptical look on my face). If I am not wrong, I thought he told me it was his last day in school and he was there to submit some forms to transfer out. I don't know, so let kenny explain himself ya? I was still trying to cough that stupid phlegm out that I couldn't make sense of most of what he said, so pai seh arh if you thought I understand, but that's because I acted as if I had understood T.T....
And these few days junwei was crashing all the lectures he can find in school. Sat with me and some of his friends in one of the probability lectures. Wouldn't be surprised if he come here and buy all the books for his reading lol....books here are relatively cheaper than overseas, well according to some of my friends studying in US...
To end off, researchers have shown that westerners tend to look at a person's face by the whole, whereas most of the asians focus on the person's eye. So that explains the difference between how a westerners and an asian use emoticons while transmitting online messages.

Just went for the "Computer Science Night of Games and Fun" and I must say I was impressed and humbled (by the kind of ppl I met). To sidetrack a bit, they had about 40 boxes of pizza and cartons of soft drinks for 100+ students.
I got this cool name tag that has a cool quote written at the back:
and all the SCS students were given a cool Facebook umbrella (yes, it rains, and the rain is unpredictable):
Then after that, we watched a really cool classic movie.
Wow
Standard size is already much bigger than the large fries here!
Kenny: You can join CCA for a start. Like CSC, which I don't know why I have been getting emails from them even though I have not been attending their volunteer work since day one in school.
Fishh: Ya, play hard but study harder.
------
This morning I have so many things stuffed in my bag and it feels so heavy carrying it while enduring the 50 minutes train and bus ride from home to school. I am still recovering from cough and last night I was coughing madly just to remove that offending phlegm out of my throat. This morning I just gave up trying and have decided to live with it (I mean the phlegm).
I think this sem is much slacker than before. During the past 2 semesters I did not have a single day off, and funnily enough I thought I am proud of it. A conscientious student who religiously comes to school every single day, regardless of rain or shine, now sounds extremely stupid to me. This sem is the first time in my 16 years that I have a single day off from school every week and many many many free breaks during school time! Yay! Now I understand why people can fit in so many modules in one semester. I think I am sort of stupid to take the modules with all the projects which take up almost all my time....
